Omaha Central Library
Omaha, NE
Omaha Central Library is the new flagship home of the Omaha Public Library system and includes a first-of-its-kind Automated Storage and Retrieval System that is visible from multiple areas within the core of the building. Spanning 98,000 sqft, this facility serves as yet another community landmark in the area.
Veil was contracted to design, detail, and coordinate multiple custom systems required to work in harmony with the buildings curved facade. Veil handled low voltage design, system layout, and custom detailing / system selection across the building's automated roller shade and motorized drapery systems. With custom features on both the drapery and roller shade systems, careful attention was paid to scope delineations, to ensure all adjacent trades to the Div.12 systems had clear direction on the requirements needed to create fully functioning systems.
Key features include Draper I/O automation and massive floor-to-ceiling curved draperies throughout, as well as a bespoke curved felt system in the building's Children's Area.
